Here are some frequently asked questions and answers
Does it work on grey hair? Yes it does. As you probably know, the appearance of grey hair comes from some of your hair shafts turning white whilst the rest remain their natural colour. When white hair is coloured, the keratin in the hair (which is yellow) is exposed. You do not see this until Hair Colour Remover removes the artificial hair colour to reveal the white hair that now has a yellow tinge. Thus white hair looks blonde after using Hair Colour Remover. In fact, your white/grey hair should have the appearance of naturally faded blonde and, in our experience, other users have been happy with this. Also, assuming you continue to not colour your hair, and the new ‘grey’ hair grows through, it blends well with the faded blonde colour and does not show root strap. You can, of course re-colour your hair to completely hide this effect.
How quickly after using Adee Phelan Hair Colour Remover can I re-colour my hair? We recommend waiting at least 2 days. Adee Phelan Hair Colour Remover is a mild chemical process. Colouring hair is harsher. So with this combination, it’s better to let the hair and scalp ‘rest’ for a short while before re-colouring.
Can Adee Phelan Hair Colour Remover get rid of bleach on hair? No it can’t. Bleach chemically transforms hair so this is not a colour-removing issue. Bleaching can be very damaging to hair, so we do not recommend it.
Will Adee Phelan Hair Colour Remover damage my hair or irritate my scalp? As with any hair ‘processing’ and as per our instructions, we emphasise the need for a patch test on the skin. Assuming there’s no reaction, there won’t be any irritation and certainly no damage to hair. Since Adee Phelan Hair Colour Remover eradicates the potentially drying/ damaging colourant ingredients, we find most of our users claim their hair feels in better condition after using Adee Phelan Hair Colour Remover than before. Make sure you carefully read and follow our instructions and then you can’t go wrong.
How can I be sure of the results I’m going to get? Simply follow the on-pack/leaflet instructions for the Hair Segment Test. This acts as a preview for the final result.
Will my hairdresser approve of me using Adee Phelan Hair Colour Remover? All hairdressers like to work with the purest, freshest hair, so she or he should be delighted and will be able to give you the best possible results.
Will Adee Phelan Hair Colour Remover leave a mess in my sink? No it won’t, and that’s why it’s a visible “miracle”. As the colour molecules are shrunk to such a small size, by Hair Colour Remover, the colour becomes invisible and rinses clear in your sink. It’s important to remember to rinse for at least 10 minutes because if any of the “invisible” colour is left in your hair, it will re-oxidise, expand and the colour will reappear. So if you do it thoroughly you’ll have colour-free hair as well as a colour-free sink!
Does Adee Phelan Hair Colour Remover have an expiry date? Yes, it does. As required by EU law, all beauty products must display an expiry date. For Adee Phelan Hair Colour Remover it is 2 years from manufacture and you’ll see the manufactured and expiry dates clearly marked on our packs.
What is the difference between the Dark Tones and Light Tones products? The ingredients are the same, but Dark Tones is more highly-concentrated. Light Tones is generally highly effective where there hasn’t been a dramatic colour transformation of build-up over time – in which cases you’ll need Dark Tones.
If my colour has been on my hair for a long time, will Adee Phelan Hair Colour Remover still work? Yes, it will. Even build-up for hair that has had old colour on for months, the Dark Tones type of Hair Colour remover will still do the job, completely. For many years of build-up a second application may be required. Again we would recommend the Dark Tones product.
